Where to find it #

On Windows: Settings → Import and export → Export, or the ⋯ button at the bottom of the item list → Export….

Pick a format #

  • Encrypted (recommended): a Passyble file locked with a password you choose now. This password isn't your master password, and nobody can recover it: without it the file can't be opened.
  • Passyble JSON: everything, unencrypted: logins, notes, cards, identities, custom fields, tags, passkeys and password history.
  • CSV: unencrypted, for other apps.

For an unencrypted file, Passyble asks for your master password and for you to tick I understand the file isn't encrypted. Anyone who gets that file, or a copy in a backup, cloud folder or the recycle bin, can read every password in it.

Export #

  1. Choose the format and, for Encrypted, the password for the export.
  2. Click Export… and pick where to save it.

Items in the trash aren't exported.

Afterwards #

Delete the export (and empty the recycle bin) once you no longer need it.

To bring an encrypted export back, import it like any other file: Passyble asks for the Export password and opens it on your PC.
